Cobalt Health is a medical charity that is based in Cheltenham, England, aiming to support people with cancer and other life-limiting conditions. The charity provides diagnosis and advanced medical scanning technology for diagnosis and treatment planning. Cobalt has several mobile MRI scanning vehicles, including Europes first 3.0 Tesla system, that travel around the UK, providing advanced and low cost medical scanning. Cobalt also provides free medical training and education courses to doctors and other health-care professionals, as well as regularly hosting medical conferences and visiting schools. ==History==
The Cobalt Unit Appeal Fund was founded in 1964 by Alex Mills and Radiotherapist Dr Fred Hanna. In 1966 a brand new radiotherapy unit was opened and handed over to the National Health Service. In May 1990 a £1.5 million appeal was launched with the aim of buying their first MRI scanner, which was then purchased in 1992.〔
